The morning was spent re-assembling the 4-inch drill and setting up the logging and packing stations inside the arch. After lunch we fired up the drill and at 1:45 PM this first core for the deep ice core (WDC06A) was drilled!!! Now we have only 3,000-plus more meters to drill and we will be done!

Drill depth: 24.37 meters
